We prepare you for the Italian exam with one-to-one lessons, just you and the teacher. Level A2 is generally required for the EU long-term residence permit and level B1 for Italian citizenship. Fill in the form on the contact page and we will get back to you.

The certificate is issued by a recognised body after the exam: the lessons prepare you, but they cannot guarantee that you will pass.

In short. We prepare you for the Italian exam with one-to-one (individual) lessons. For the EU long-term residence permit you generally need Italian at level A2; for citizenship by residence or by marriage you need level B1, to be proved with the application. There are exemptions, which depend on the case. The certificate is issued not by SH Immigration Specialists but by a recognised body after the exam, and the lessons cannot guarantee that you will pass.

Page by SH Immigration Specialists, updated 30 October 2026. We will explain the times and conditions of the lessons after your request, before any commitment.

  2. We get back to you. We explain how the one-to-one lessons work, the times and the conditions, before any commitment.

What to know first

  • The certificate is issued by a recognised body after the exam: for the citizenship B1, for example, CILS B1 Cittadinanza (University for Foreigners of Siena), CELI 2 Immigrati (University for Foreigners of Perugia), CERT.IT B1 (Roma Tre University) and PLIDA B1 (Società Dante Alighieri). SH Immigration Specialists does not issue certificates.
  • An A2 certificate does not prove B1: CELI, for example, distinguishes CELI 1 Immigrati (A2) from CELI 2 Immigrati (B1).
  • The lessons help you prepare: no lesson can guarantee that you will pass. The result depends on your preparation and on the body’s assessment.
  • Tests, dates, venues and fees are set by the bodies and change: see the B1 guide and their websites.
  • Before booking an exam, check whether you actually need it in your case: there are exemptions, and the rules can change.
