Who we are and how we work

SH Immigration Specialists is an SH Group brand based in Bologna: an immigration law firm with integrated administrative assistance. We help individuals, families, workers, students and businesses understand and manage administrative procedures, documents and communications with the competent offices. Support can be arranged in person by appointment in Bologna or online, depending on the procedure and the client’s circumstances; the firm’s lawyers are available immediately upon the client’s request.

Our story

Anyone who has faced an Italian immigration procedure knows the feeling: forms in a language that is not your own, offices that reply weeks later, deadlines that leave no room for mistakes. Hamza Ameer founded SH Immigration Specialists to take that weight off people who want to build their future in Italy.

Today SH Immigration Specialists is a law firm and multidisciplinary team based in Bologna: two lawyers registered with the Bar Associations of Rome and Bologna, an accountant, a labour consultant, law graduates who handle international cases and relations with Questure and Prefetture, a specialist in the EU Blue Card and highly qualified workers, and an expert in sworn translations. We speak Italian, English, Arabic, Spanish, Urdu and Hindi, and we assist clients in person, online across Italy and from abroad.

We bring these skills together because an immigration procedure is never just a form. With the right person at every step, individuals, families and businesses move through the process with more clarity and fewer mistakes.

Our team

• Hamza Ameer – Director and founder. He founded SH Immigration Specialists, an SH Group brand based in Bologna, and leads its work by coordinating the team.
• Avv. Angelina Paolisso – Lawyer. Registered with the Rome Bar Association, she handles the legal side of immigration procedures: legal advice, appeals and litigation.
• Avv. Giulia Ceprini – Lawyer. Registered with the Bologna Bar Association, she handles the legal side of immigration procedures: legal advice, appeals and litigation.
• Dott. Massimo Bolognesi – Accountant (commercialista) in Bologna. He handles the tax and accounting side of procedures, such as VAT registration and company set-up.
• Dott.ssa Patrizia Calicchia – Labour consultant (consulente del lavoro) in Rome. She handles the employment and contract side of procedures for companies and foreign workers, such as hiring from abroad.
• Dott.ssa Monica Defano – EU Blue Card and highly qualified workers. A modern languages graduate, she has worked for years on EU Blue Card applications and on the entry of highly qualified workers.
• Dott.ssa Claudia Fiore – International cases. A law graduate with first-class honours (110 cum laude), she specialises in international immigration cases.
• Dott.ssa Alessia Fornasiero – Questure and Prefetture. A law graduate (110/110), she manages relations with Questure and Prefetture on behalf of clients.
• Dott.ssa Arianna Picchio – Sworn translations. She provides sworn translations of every type of document required in immigration procedures.

What we do

We assist with residence permits and renewals, Italian citizenship, family reunification, visas, Decreto Flussi, entry and hiring procedures for foreign workers, international mobility and administrative documentation. Each situation is assessed individually because requirements, documents and steps may vary depending on the case and the guidance of the competent authorities.

Our firm brings together administrative-procedure specialists, two lawyers, a labour consultant and an accountant. This helps us identify from the outset which administrative, legal, employment or tax issues require input from the relevant professional.

Law firm and administrative assistance: distinct roles, one firm

SH Immigration Specialists is an immigration law firm with integrated administrative assistance. Our consultants provide administrative and organisational support with immigration procedures. Legal advice, appeals, litigation, interpretation of complex legal matters and court representation are reserved to lawyers and handled exclusively by the lawyers of our law firm, who are registered with the Bar Association and available immediately upon the client’s request. We do not promise outcomes or processing times; final decisions and timelines depend on the competent authorities.

Languages and how we work

We communicate with clients in Italian, English, Arabic, Spanish, Urdu and Hindi. Meetings in Bologna can be arranged by appointment. Where the procedure allows, support may be provided online to clients elsewhere in Italy or abroad.

Is SH Immigration Specialists a law firm?

Yes. SH Immigration Specialists is an immigration law firm with integrated administrative assistance: Avv. Giulia Ceprini and Avv. Angelina Paolisso handle legal advice, appeals and representation before a court and are available immediately upon the client’s request. Alongside the lawyers, consultants who are not lawyers take care of the administrative side (permits, documents, appointments) as a professional activity under Italian Law No. 4 of 14 January 2013. Activities reserved to lawyers are carried out only by the lawyers registered with the Bar Association.

Do you assist companies and employers?

Yes. We assist companies and employers with procedures involving foreign workers, Decreto Flussi, hiring and international mobility, involving the labour consultant or other relevant professionals when needed.

Can I receive support remotely?

Yes. Many assessments and preparatory steps can be managed online. Availability depends on the procedure and any requirements for in-person attendance.
